Nearly two years ago, a corrupt majority of the Supreme Court handed down a decision in Citizens United v FEC, unleashing the floodgates of corporate dollars in election campaigns and solidfying the bizzarre fiction of "corporate personhood."
What were the origins of the case? How did the Supreme Court expand it in an unusual way six months before handing down the decision? One month before the decision, anticipating its coming, Tell Somebody invited Craig Holman, Public Citizen's Legislative Representative, to explain the case. This segment was originally aired on KKFI in December, 2009. The decision came just over a month later in January, 2010.
Also on this show, audio from the protest at the new Kansas City nuclear weapons parts plant - part of the War Tax Resisters National Meeting that held was in Kansas City last weekend November 4th-6th.
